Overview |

 |
TUITION AND PAYMENT: |
|
| |
Tuition is based on your child’s age group and
the number of days per week that your child
attends the Center. Non-subsidized students who
attend 2 days or less will be charge at the
drop-in rate. Non-subsidized students that
attend 3 days or more will be charged full
tuition as designated by the child’s age group.
Subsidized students will be charged full
tuition, however the parent fee will be charged
according to the guidelines of DFCS. We bill for
the week that our students have attended.
Tuition is billed on Friday for that week and
payments are due on the following Monday.
Payments will be accepted on Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday during the hours of 4:00-6:30 pm. If
you are paying by check you may leave the check
on the desk and a receipt will be placed in your
child’s bag. |

WITHDRAWAL FROM
THE PROGRAM: |
|
| |
Parents should notify the center as soon as soon
they are aware that their children will no
longer be attending the program. |

INCLEMENT
WEATHER/EMERGENCY CLOSINGS: |
|
| |
In case of bad weather, please watch the local
television stations for the closing of the
Center. In case of an emergency that causes the
Center to close early, we will contact parents
or guardians to pick up the children. For this
reason, it is very important that you have a
current and complete Emergency Contact and daily
Schedule on file in the office. |
|
 |
COMMUNICATION
WITH PARENTS: |
|
| |
We understand that our parents are busy with
work, school, and family obligations. In order
to make sure that our parents are kept informed
about the Center. After 9:15 A.M., breakfast is
cleared away, and will not be brought back out
far late children. When a parent or authorized guardian picks up or
drops off a child at Center, he/she must sign
the classroom sign-in sheet. This is very
important, because it provides a checklist that
can be used in case of an emergency evacuation
or fire drill. Please make every effort to
arrive on time each day. Each classroom has an
educational program that begins at 9:30 a.m.
People walking in and out of the rooms and
talking during morning circle time distracts the
children and the teacher from their activities. |
|
 |
DEPARTURE: |
|
| |
The Center closes at 6:30 PM. It is very
important that children are picked up on time by
an authorized adult. In the evening, it is
unfair for both staff and children to have to
wait past closing time for late parents. Parents
will be assessed a late charge of $1.00 after
6:35. Repeated lateness in picking children up
will result in termination of your child care
services. For your child’s safety, the staff
will only release children to his/her parents or
other persons listed in the Emergency
information. Please come into the classroom to
pick up your child. Alert your child’s teacher
or teacher assistant to the fact that you are
taking the child home, and sign out on the sheet
in your child’s classroom. |
|
 |
ATTENDANCE: |
|
| |
Regular attendance is very important for your
child’s emotional and social adjustment to
school. Since we also have a planned curriculum,
your child’s cognitive growth is also dependent
on his/her regular attendance. If your child will be absent for a day, we
expect to be notified no later than 9:30 a.m.
Please contact us at (706) 989-3243. |

 |
NUTRITIONAL
PROGRAM: |
|
| |
Our regional nutritionist plans our biweekly
menus. We place a copy of the monthly lunch menu
in each parent’s mailbox. Children are provided
with breakfast at 8:30 A.M., lunch at 12:00 P.M., and an afternoon snack at 3:00 P.M. Children
should not bring any food, candy, toys, or money
to the Child Care Center. If your child is
allergic to any food, please provide us with an
itemized list of foods that he/she should not
eat. |

CENTER EVENTS
AND THEIR CHILDREN'S PROGRESS: |
|
| |
We
have several methods of communicating with
parents:
Parent Mailboxes, located in the office, are the
Director and the secretary’s primary means of
giving the parents information. The boxes are
organized alphabetically, and are reserved for
infants, one, two, and three, year-old classes.
Please check your mailbox daily. The Bulletin
Board in the office is where copies of the
monthly calendar and lunch menu are posted. Also
on the board are notices of upcoming events, and
school closings. Your child’s cubby is the teacher’s primary
method of communication. You will find in it
daily artwork, activities, progress reports, and
notes from the teacher. Twice a year,
Parent/Teacher Meetings and Family dinners are
held at the Center as an opportunity for the
families, teachers, and the director to discuss
Center policies, children’s progress, and to
become familiar with one another. Formal
meetings between the parents and the Center
staff may be scheduled at your convenience. |
|
 |
INDIVIDUAL
ACTIVITY SHEET: |
|
| |
Each day an activity sheet will be available for
parents, detailing the child’s activity for that
day. |
|
 |
FOR THE CHILDREN: |
|
| |
The First day
For both parents and children, the first day in
a new environment can be stressful. To make your
child’s introduction to the Center as smooth as
possible, talk to your child about what to
expect at their new daycare. Bring your child in
to visit the classroom for an hour or two before
their start date, so they get the chance to
“test out” the teacher and other children. Come
early on the first day so you can spend some
time helping your child acclimate to the Center,
and have an opportunity to talk to the teacher.
Do not worry if your child fusses about you
leaving: our staff is well trained and very
experienced in helping young children to adjust.
Each child is individually attended by a staff
member to make them feel at home. Arrival
Arrival time is between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. The
staff cannot be held responsible for children
who arrive before 6:30 a.m. Children must arrive
by 9:00 a.m. if they are to have breakfast. A schedule of Center closings for holidays and
staff training days is posted on the main
bulletin board in the office. In addition,
closings are indicated on the biweekly
newsletter; which is distributed in the Parent
Mailboxes. The Center’s hours and days of
operation do not change for the summer and
winter. Birthdays
Your child’s birthday has very important meaning
to him/her. Because it is so important, we like
to celebrate it here in school. Please notify
the Center if you plan to host a birthday party
for your child. We would like to be notified at
least a week in advance. |
